Day 326: A Case Of The Mondays

When: Monday, April 2nd, from 12pm to 12:30pm
Where: The D & R Canal
What: Fishing
Weather: Cool and breezy, mostly sunny, 50 degrees, NW wind at 16mph and gusting to 24
Barometric Pressure: 29.81in and steady
Moon: Waxing, 4 days before full
Water Conditions: Murky

Nothing like a bad night's sleep, a difficult customer, a stiff breeze and a missed fish to erase all good memories of a fantastic weekend.

Early this morning I was thinking how incredibly cliche the whole "Monday" thing is. Shortly after I checked FB and saw someone post something about "a case of the Mondays," I then went on to have a "case of the Mondays" of my own. By the end of that same morning I was positive that Mondays, on the whole, are kind of rotten days.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day and this is a short week at work.

After a less than stellar morning, I headed to the canal for my lunch and was treated with cool air and stiff winds. I didn't have a jacket and it was pretty windy, making it feel even colder. I was pretty uncomfortable, but gave it my 30 minutes. Towards the end, I had two strikes and came tight on a small pickerel, that eventually flopped off the hook at my feet.

Chalk it up to Monday.
