I'm exhausted right now. It's 12pm on Saturday and I just woke-up. It's all because of fishing, but it definitely wasn't because of this little after-work jaunt.
That's for later though.
I hit the canal on my way home from the office on Friday. I've done very well fishing the canal in the past, but for the time I've spent fishing it this year, it's been stingy. This stretch in particular looks absolutely perfect and I have yet to even see a fish.
I guess that's really all I can say.
I gave more than a half-hour tossing spinners and Husky Jerks, but nothing wanted to bite. I was confident about this trip too. The new moon was the previous night, it was cloudy and it had been warm for several consecutive days.
I was so optimistic about the fishing conditions, that I was even willing to take a ride up to Lake Hopatcong at midnight.
More about that later though...
