Day 270: Still Looking For Life

Still plenty of light to be had at 5:30 these days.
When: Monday, February 6th, from 5:30pm to 6pm
Where: Victor Crowell Park Pond in Middlesex, Middlesex County, New Jersey
What: Carp fishing
Weather: Clear skies, 52 degrees, SW winds at 9mph and gusting to 20mph
Barometric Pressure: 29.99in and steady
Moon: Full
Water Conditions: Stained

This is getting to be a bit painful. Luckily, I feel the end is nigh.

It has indeed been a tough month of fishing. February has not been kind. It also doesn't help that the waters near my home aren't real "fish factories." I have a friend who lives in South Jersey who's been doing extremely well with crappie, perch and pickerel. Unfortunately, there isn't a crappie, perch or pickerel within 15 miles of my home. Instead, I'm left chasing after sunfish, carp and the random largemouth bass.

That's okay though, another month and the water will start to warm again. Carp will begin to feed, bass will enter "pre-spawn" when they can be caught on spinners and catfish will begin to bite as well.

Almost there.
