It's January, the middle of winter, and it was almost 60 degrees today.
I knew the rain from the previous night and morning would make for some dirty water conditions, but I thought the temperature in the shallows would be warm enough that the fish would respond. Seeing as the fish at Nomahegan yesterday were biting, I thought I could duplicate the results.
Alas, I did not.
I snapped this pic of the pond on my way to an appointment and then returned after work. I tried using the waxworms since they worked the previous day, but I did not see any signs of life along the shore like I had on Thursday. Resigning to the fact that there was nothing lurking in the shallow water, I bounced a white twister-tail off the bottom for the second half of my 30 minutes, but not a touch.
Definitely not an eventful outing, but Martalus and I are headed deep into Western New Jersey tomorrow to see if we can't make something happen.
