This week is not turning out like I had planned.
But that's okay.
Back in November, when I envisioned what my "Christmas Break" would be like, it was something to the effect of me ice fishing every other day. Instead, the weather here has been more like March than late-December, and ice fishing still seems miles and miles away.
In fact, it is not outside the realm of possibility that there will in fact be no ice fishing this year.
Sad in a sense, but I guess a mild winter would make my life a lot easier.
Even a night like tonight could be taken for granted. Last year at this time, we were suffering through Snowmageddon and not only was there multi-foot piles of frozen sunshine everywhere, but it was a heck of a lot colder. When I left my house for Echo Lake Park on this "day after Christmas" 2011, I barely needed more than a hooded sweatshirt to get me through my outing.
Not to mention, the bullheads were still biting, so even the fish don't think it's THAT cold.
Although I miss ice fishing, I'm not going to complain.
