Day 152: Near Misses

I eventually got ran off the lake by a track meet.

When: Tuesday, October 11th, from 5:15pm to 6pm
Where: Kennedy Park Pond
What: Fishing
Weather: Mostly cloudy, 73 degrees, SE wind 5 to 10mph
Barometric Pressure: 30.16in and steady
Moon: Full
Water Conditions: Stained

Well, after a hellacious Monday, this week could only get better.

And it did.

After a slightly disappointing, but productive day at work, I once again found myself in the South Amboy/Sayreville area. Since Kennedy Park was only a few miles away, I figured I'd stop by for 30 minutes of fishing before heading home.

When I arrived, I noticed a lot of high-school aged runners jogging around the trail that goes around the lake. I didn't think much of it.

Fishing was slow. I did see one pickerel inhale my lure only to spit it out and I did hook into one nice bass that got off.

Right after I lost that bass, I noticed a wave of red and blue shirts heading towards the small, narrow bridge where I was standing. Since I had by then been warned there was a track meet about to start, I figured it was a good time to call it a day.

I took some Tiki Sticks and Rapalas and started pitching them around the lake. The first 20 or minutes or so were uneventful
