Day 125: An Early Night

Night is falling earlier in New Jersey these days.
When: Wednesday, September 14th, from 6:45pm to 7:15pm
Where: Mindowaskin Pond
What: Fishing
Weather: Mostly cloudy, 87 degrees, SW wind at 9pm
Barometric Pressure: 29.89in and steady
Moon: Waning, 2 days after full
Water Conditions: Surprisingly clear

This has been a tough week, and the fishing thing isn't getting any easier. However, if I'm going to finish out this quest, I'm going to have to get used to the dark.......and fast.

It's no secret that our days are growing shorter, and where once I had the luxury of sunlight until after 9pm, night is now falling around 7pm.

Next will be the cold.

And I'm exhausted.

I drank a huge cup of coffee today at 3:30pm, and when I got home from work at 5:45pm, I passed out. Not for long though, because I had another obigation tonight and I had to make sure I went fishing beforehand.

I headed to Mindowaskin Pond which is only about 5 minutes from my house. I was hoping the bass might be biting since it was dusk, but after tossing soft-plastics and small minnows for 45 minutes, I didn't land one. I did get a few love-taps, most likely from sunfish, but none stuck on the hook.

I also saw a bunch of huge goldfish swimming around, which was kind of neat. I want to catch one. It would make a cool picture.

Maybe another day.

As I'm writing this, my eyes are kind of bleary and I'm half falling asleep. I have to do some computer work for my job now and I have to be up at 6:30am tomorrow morning. I'm scheduled for a virtual meeting with an artist tomorrow night at 1am. This should be fun.

But what I'm complaining about? Life is good.

And things could be A LOT worse.
