Day 104: On The Banks Of The Old Raritan........Kind Of

A little chunk from the canal.
When: Wednesday, August 24th, from 5:30pm to 7pm
Where: The D&R Canal and The North Branch of the Raritan River
What: Fishing with Andy S
Weather: Mostly Cloudy. 80 degrees. South wind 14mph
Barometric Pressure: 29.95in and steady
Moon: Waning. 5 days before new
Water Conditions: Canal was a little high and murky, the North Branch was running clean

Seeing that I took a spin through hub-city and passed my alma mater, I guess it would have been appropriate to fish the Raritan River. Andy and I decided to meet up after work and fish the big river near Bound Brook. We eventually had to come up with a Plan B.

On the way up, I took a pit-stop at a nice-looking spot on the canal. After only a few minutes, I scored a decent bass.

I then headed to Queens Bridge to meet Andy, but after taking a look at the river, we had to make other plans. After a little discussion, we took a short drive to see if we could catch a few smallies on the North Branch.

We did.

I'd love to go into more detail, however, I need to be out of my house in 72 minutes and I still have to shower, eat and do about an hour's worth of computer work. I'm not quite sure how that's going to work out, but I know it won't work out at all if I write any more.

Have a nice day!!!!
