Day 100: Country Bumpkins

Me, knee-deep in a Hunterdon County pond.
When: Saturday, August 20th, from 6pm to 7pm
Where: A small pond in Hunterdon County
What: Bass fishing and hanging with Mindy and Lindsay
Weather: Nice. 80 degrees, fair skies, calm wind.
Moon: Waning. Third (or last) Quarter
Water Conditions: Warm and mostly clear.

Lindsay and I had planned to spend Saturday in Hunterdon County, mostly for the purpose of checking-out The Raritan Inn where we will be getting married next year. Near the end of the week, Mindy decided to come along.

We had a wonderful day, and it was pretty cool to show Mindy some of our Hunterdon County hangouts.

We started at the Raritan Inn and checked-out the property. I loved it. Next, we headed down County Route 513 to Gronsky's and had ourselves an early dessert as we soaked our feet in the South Branch. From Gronsky's, we hopped back on 78 to a preserve where Lindsay and Mindy chillaxed while I did my fishing. The bite was slow, although I did hook one bass on a Rapala that came unglued at my feet prior to a picture. After that, we headed to Clinton for coffee and so Mindy could see the mill, downtown and once again, the river.

Even without a fish, a wonderful day was had by all.

Lindsay and I have spent quite a bit of time in Hunterdon County in the time that we've been together, and it was nice to show Mindy some of the places that we've discovered. I absolutely love it out there and there could not be a more perfect place to get married to the perfect lady.
