Day 7: Another Chocolate Milk Shutout

The water at Milton Lake was still mighty murky from recent rains.
When: Thursday, May 19th, from 5pm to 5:30pm
Where: Milton Lake in Rahway
What: Fishing
Weather: Warmer and sunnier with some clouds. High near 70.
Moon: Waning. 3 days after full.

For the second day in a row, my attempts to catch a bass out of a Union County lake were foiled by mud. I'm not saying that it's impossible to catch largemouth from stained water, but it certainly makes it a little more difficult, especially when they could be spawning somewhere under the Yoo-Hoo.

I discovered a new place to fish today, also within minutes of my home, but upon arrival, I could tell it was once again going to be tough to catch a fish with a lure.

I don't plan on failing tomorrow.

Although bass may mind the mud, catfish sure don't, and I already have 2 pints of chicken livers in my fridge for my Friday night fishing.

Tune in tomorrow, I have a good feeling about this one.

Next Up: Hunting for the channel catfish of Warinanco Lake in Roselle.
